What it will look like: A trail of 200 illuminated resin bees leads visitors along Walmgate to a communal space with hive sculptures, benches, and interactive QR codes.
Relevance to Walmgate: It transforms Walmgate into a vibrant, connected pathway that reflects its history, creativity, and community spirit.

Option 2: Amplify Walmgate
Idea: A joyful, light-based installation that unites people in a shared sensory experience of connection, wonder, and community.
What it will look like: A glowing “amphitheatre” of light that activates at dusk, inviting public interaction through illuminated forms and shadows.
Relevance to Walmgate: Ideally placed at Willow Green near Walmgate Bar, it transforms the space into an inclusive gathering point that links the University and Walmgate while supporting local businesses with event evenings throughout winter.

Idea: An interactive public seating installation that celebrates community, imagination, and resistance through shared storytelling and digital art.
What it will look like: A vibrant table-and-bench structure with diorama-style designs, QR codes, and augmented reality features that bring Walmgate’s stories to life.
Relevance to Walmgate: Inspired by local workshops and history, it offers an inclusive, creative gathering space that reflects Walmgate’s identity and community spirit.
