Public Art Collection: PickArt X Supercity York

We are delighted to invite you to an evening celebrating contemporary art, local creativity, and innovation at York’s newest hotel.

With support from York Creatives, PickArt and Kinetic AI are launching a brand-new art lobby space at Micklegate by Supercity Aparthotels. This collaboration transforms the ‘traditional’ hotel lobby into a dynamic gallery showcasing the works of five local York artists.

York Creatives has worked closely with the team at PickArt to create a gallery that celebrates local talent while exploring new ways technology can support how art is experienced and discovered.

The art collection transforms the role of a hotel lobby by showcasing works of 5 local York artists and one guest artist. Artworks are integrated into the guest experience and available to purchase via QR codes. In addition, the art is supported by innovative installations created by Kinetic AI with an ambitious goal of creating a kinetic art space later this year.
